Intel's Devil's Canyon and\or Haswell Refresh Could Soon Be Upon Us

When I posted the first thread on the LTT forum back around March 20esque about Intel's press event on new desktop silicon, I was greatly excited.

Apparently, it may get here sooner than expected.

According to a roadmap on an article originally on vr-zone.com, Haswell Refresh may be scheduled for 14 April, '14.

We'll see soon!

Well, all it seems Devil's Canyon is is a TIM change and a 100MHz clock increase. I wasn't exactly expecting them to take years to launch it.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - CPU Cooler: Deepcool Castle 240EX - Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO

And less overclockability!

*Devil's Canyon is supposed to both be a higher binned chip, and have a better TIM installed between the die and IHS, both of those improvements giving the chip a higher overclocking potential.

So I'm guessing that the 9 Series motherboards will come out soon too. Can't wait to see what manufacturers will implement this year.

Oh well, I've already sold my desktop and my macbook pro.  I'm going to get Haswell, I know they run hot but I would much rather use something that I know has problems and I'm aware of it than use something brand new and find problems I'm not expecitng.
