Where does the hardware "nostalgia era" lie for you?

pipnina

Geforce 4800ti

It was the first time 1600x1200 gaming was a reality.  And I had a glorious 22" 1920x1440 NEC monitor to take advantage of it.

otherwise...it would be when i was a kid playing on my ti99-4a

The nostalgia for me was the first time i built something properly quick for the time and went from a crappy idt winchip with onboard graphics that couldn't run nfs2se to getting a Celeron 400a (back when Celerons were just p2's with less cache) with a 12mb righteous 3d 2... was the fastest thing any of my group had and made mincemeat of the game of the moment "carmageddon 2"

Not sure from when this even is, but it was my first gaming "computer", I think.

I find it rather amusing how much of that keyboard has been translated into German, EXCEPT "Multiple Choice"

I recall having something relatively similar as a kid, but with more of a 16x16 lcd grid with some games on it, but i remember barely anything of it.

Starting from 386 era.

I really liked VGA graphics. 286 mostly had EGA iirc. Anyway EGA sucked.

The era of CRTs...

Edit - I'm getting old - I already posted on this topic.

I edit my posts more often than not

Multiple Choice is basically a German word. There are lots of English words that made it into German over the years.

Years later still bothering my parents staying up until its light out again, just because the Delta Force Black Hawk Down gamers where overseas. hahaha.

So many things i took for granted in that game that still TODAY are hard to come by.

You can prone, you can lean, there's 64 player servers, operate several vehicles and mounted weaponry, endless maps (like walk 15 minutes and still not be stopped), make you own maps (sort of), you can med/revive each other and you can even re-supply. It was such a great game, to bad gaming didn't really evolve from that besides getting more graphical awesomeness.
