Please help, eye strain monitor

AluCarD

Hello guys,

I'm looking for a monitor that will stop my eye strain.

Do you think BenQ BL2411PT is a good choice?

Regards,

Have you tried Flux? There aren't alot of monitors out there advertised to help prevent or reduce eye strain.

Their are computer use glasses you can use too. Gunnars for example(I have yet to try my prescription pair because they haven't shipped to me yet...)

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried f.lux and it didn't help :(

Benq is advertising this monitor as a anti-eye strain monitor with its zero flicker feature. I am not sure if it will actually help me though.

120hz panels with lightboost should do that for you, but they're TN. Gunnars could help. Flux.

You should also lower your brigtness whenever you can.

You know if you are looking at a monitor so long that your eyes hurt, maybe you should take a break and do something else for a few minutes. I know flicker can be bad and I think most of benqs monitors are flicker less monitors.

Try buying a VG248QE and doing the lightboost hack. Plus the high refresh rate in and of itself may alleviate some eye strain.

Make sure the lightning conditions when using your monitor are optimal too, using a very bright monitor in the dark isn't good for your eyes either, regardless of model.

Computer glasses help too.

Does the CRT thing apply to LCD's...?

More hz = More better

^For the eyes.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Oh I forgot to mention don't forget to blink. Remind yourself to blink every 10 or so minutes, it helps get water to your eyes.

CRT's kill eyes because they work differently.

I confused as to what causes eye strain. I can sit and stare at a monitor for days on end, it doesn't bother my eyes. Can anyone explain what it is?

try setting warmer colours on  your monitor, excessive blue light from monitors can cause lots of eye strain thats why f.lux and gunnars have a yellow tint to cut blue light

I'm not sure what causes eye strain TBH. but it's something you don't want to experience. Your eyes will be as dry and irritated as it can be and you'll have a terrible headache.

I would do anything to get rid of this issue :(

Awe! I'm so sorry :( Maybe something like eyedrops to keep your eyes moist would help?

Thank you all for your help and advices. I really appreciate it. I have DELL ST2320L and it's horrible. I think I will have to try an IPS monitor this time and see how it goes.

Yeah, I'm actually using eye gel which is stronger than eye drops. It does help a little bit but I'm still unable to stare at the monitor for long periods.

Maybe but LED or cold cathode lights behind you monitor. I've found that  helps me.

Take quick breaks in between, get a glass of water just to give your eyes a break for just a minute or two :) I have my Qnix and old pos dell right next to eachother, the Qnix is definitely more clear and a lot easier to read etc. So maybe an IPS/PLS panel would help you :)
