The PCs we ACTUALLY run at home

ivycomb

Here at LTT, we’re often making videos about crazy small form factor, oversized, no compromise, or otherwise unusual and extreme PC builds. But… what about our employees? Are they all rocking RTX 3090s in their sweet battlestations, or are all of their systems at home just shells of glory, not to be used by even the most infrequent of gamers?

i do the writing of things hello | they/them

LOL You know it's a slow news day at LTT when they need to push out their daily video and don't have anything other than this. Also, LTT has FAR MORE employees working there now - all you could find was 6 people???

I think that the main issue was finding people who haven’t gotten an extreme tech upgrade yet…

Why get a sound card when you could get an external dac/amp which is probably cheaper, better sounding *and* more flexible?

You mean minus the people who've gotten an extreme upgrade, those who have something that's deemed interesting for a YT audience, and that want to be on camera? Having a lot of people doesn't mean everyone is going to have a custom/neat/interesting rig.

I mean they make USB sound cards and they are pretty nice. What I use when my own RealTek mobo sound refused to cooperate.

Sound BlasterX G1 is like $25, USB powered, and I keep it in my headphone case and use it on my desktop, laptop, everything.

If your using a speaker setup, like 5.1/7.1 (not recommended) the PCI sound cards are still preferably. For something more permanent I was thinking of getting one of those USB mixers to control my headphones, speakers, and XLR mic like some of those streamers use.
