Louis vuitton speaker

the diamond boxx is probably my favorite approach cause the boom box style of it probably has the potential to sound good the only issue is tis really easy to DIY a boombox for cheape

I've always been a bit iffy about the Diamondboxx. Their entire appeal seems to be "Hey, I get somewhat loud"

Devialet Phantoms on the other hand are pretty damn impressive. Their bass extension is excellent, even size aside. I mean hell, they hit lower than my MBL speakers, which have 6 12" woofers in each channel.

Long ago one school of thought was by your audio equipment by the pound.  Light weight stuff usually didn’t work very well.  It went away though because manufacturers just started using light electronics and cheap heavy particle board. The whole “by the pound” theory only worked if the pound was mostly copper.  Not so much if it was lead or elmers glue.

I tend to find that this still has some truth when it comes to high end speakers. The heavier ones tend to sound a little nicer, mostly due to more inert cabinets and larger motors on drivers.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

yeah most people who cared about boom boxes didnt seem impressed by them either especially those who did DIY I remember one of the selling points as well was the fact that they had a diamond on it just for looks

I googled “define devialet” and got this as top hit:

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I very much suspect its a cheapy 100 quid product which they chuck their brand onto, and turn it into whatever this is.

Does it sound crap? probably.

Is it overpriced? absolutely.

How is that any different than the snake oil the audiophiles buy into?  $1000 speaker wire?

I'm sure adding the LV logo to even a Walmart speaker will entice a few "audiophiles" to buy it.

It's nothing more than taking advantage of those that desperately want to be taken advantage of, to brag about it to those they think care.

That's quite funny actually.

I think for their niche, the Phantoms work very well. Granted, you could run to Genelec and get a better sounding system for the same price, but they aren't really the same type of product.

It isn't very different really. Both overpriced and most likely made fairly cheaply.

Maybe. But probably not a hardcore audiophile, after all it is Bluetooth so is basically the anti-christ to audiophiles.

With this (at least I hope) Nobody's expecting it to outperform a 3000usd speaker system, this is about the stature, branding, and luxury elements I suppose- rather than claimed performance. Snake oil basically always claims to enhance performance, otherwise it's not... really snake oil anymore in my opinion.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

I agree with this statement. It is obvious that LV is targeting average audience who will pay extra just because they want LV accessories in their homes.

I highly doubt audiophiles and audio-enthousiasts would ever buy this odd and fugly looking shit.

I don't want to take a dump in someone's cereal but that price?! Damn, you can buy many headphones with that and a good dac/amp.

Clothing brands should stick to clothing, they don't know shit about tech.

I personally avoid electronics sold by clothing companies.
