Qualcomm isn’t an audio manufacturer either though they do make parts used by audio manufacturers.  I don’t think it’s made by Qualcomm. I don’t know what a thurible is either, but it strikes me as the best lead so far.  Might be nothing of course.  I really don’t know.

You know how designer clothing brands make $3000 watches with $20 Casio movements inside?

That’s probably what this is.

Possible.  Need to know what is in it though. One thing that is highly likely though is it wasn’t designed internally to Louis Vuitton.  One never knows though.  Maybe they hired someone who knows a lot about speakers and something got made anyway.  It can happen.  I ran across some RalphLauren pants once that happened because there were some world war 2 teen actors who couldn’t fit in their uniforms because world war 2 was fought by 19 year olds with 33 waists and reenactment is done by 50 year olds with 44 waists.  So RalfLauren made some picklepants in large sizes.  They were great cargo pants.  I bought 3 pairs and wore them till the seats ripped because they got too thin.  Weird stuff can happen.

Same thing happened to me I was driving home home one day and seen a garage sale with a full 5.1 Sonos system set up. I got the whole thing for 250, they where first generation but now I have 2 5.1 set ups in my house.

I very much suspect its a cheapy 100 quid product which they chuck their brand onto, and turn it into whatever this is.

Does it sound crap? probably.

Is it overpriced? absolutely.

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

It does look somewhat B&o esc. But their whole thing is having the tweeter sit below the lens ontop. It seems LV have put a woofer there? With their god damned logo on it?

You can just about see it in this:

image.png.49272f03feafca7394e42667337ea43c.png

If that lens is doing something, I dread to think how high the woofer is crossed over at.

image.png.561bb57be47f308effe94ec4c7e977af.png

Its specs are pretty awful either way. Only 90dB with 60W of power? Mad.

unfortunately a lot of designer clothing brands especially brands like louis Vuitton lacks any subtlety cause people gotta flex their drip and subtle drip for hype brands are pretty rare. So in this case sound quality will take a major hit for the sake of logos

I think the word "Drip" should be banned. Never talk to me again.

All jokes aside, I think LV just wanted a speaker. They sell wireless IEM's which look, uh, interesting. So I guess it makes sense to have a small-ish portable speaker? But the thing weighs a whole kilo, which isn't hugely light for a portable speaker.

I'm kind of intrigued by this thing now. I bought a pair of those Devialet Phantoms because everyone was hyping them up, and they actually sound fairly good. But Devialet is an audio company. Their amplifiers are actually extremely good. LV just isn't an audio company.

I'm guessing they just found a fairly cheap portable speaker that was large enough to chuck their shite logo onto, bought a bunch, "upgraded" them then sold them on for wayyyy too much. I guess for some random sucker who has 0 clue about audio it might be worth it? Maybe? not a clue.

This is real possible.  The designer specializes in clothing with forays into ID. ID does not cover engineering.  It happens after something has been engineered.

That kilo is probably mostly cast metal weight looking at the pic.  Long ago one school of thought was by your audio equipment by the pound.  Light weight stuff usually didn’t work very well.  It went away though because manufacturers just started using light electronics and cheap heavy particle board. The whole “by the pound” theory only worked if the pound was mostly copper.  Not so much if it was lead or elmers glue.

its not the first time I've seen "desighner" bluettoh speakers except the brands arent exactly usually a clothing brand but they just look nice than these and probably sound better as well not that they sound good for the price. the diamond boxx is probably my favorite approach cause the boom box style of it probably has the potential to sound good the only issue is tis really easy to DIY a boombox for cheaper

the only thing I would honestly trust is if louis Vuitton were to colab with a speaker brand or a headphone brand.  then you could get something decent imagina  focal clear MG but all they literally have to do is add a bit of fold and more black to this thing put LV on the headband and pads and use leather and put LV all over the thing and charge 5k for it
