In my opinion, I switched from a OnePlus 6t to an iPhone 11 Pro, the screen is sharper and more detailed on an iPhone compared to OnePlus. At least from my experience.

Huh did not know that. 🙂

I doubt you'll be too unhappy with it though.

Why are you considering switching?

I went from an iPhone X with an OLED to a Galaxy Note 8 with an AMOLED to my current iPhone 11 non-pro with an lcd. I definitely missed the OLED displays for about the first 6-8 months and was actually going to upgrade because of it, but after a while I stopped noticing it too much. Even now though, whenever I use a phone with an OLED I notice how much better they look. That’s basically the only reason I’d get a new phone within the next few years (unless mine breaks), would be to get a phone with an OLED. In my opinion if you care enough about the benefits of an OLED to ask the question, save yourself the potential regret and get a phone with an OLED.

I would take their older IPS over AMOLED any day... So much easier to read in sunlight. Still happy with my 12 Mini but it's definitely harder to use outdoors.

Hopefully the upcoming iPhones/iPads with Mini LED solve this issue.

As an owner of said phone, the iPhone 11’s LCD panel is largely unobjectionable, and quite good, and for an LCD, produces excellent contrast. Easily the best display I own, barring the oled EVF on my Sony Alpha camera. The only major flaw however is it’s use for watching video content in a darkened room, where the notch and bottom curved regions are visible.

I prefer to keep my phones for 3+ years, so the lifespan advantages of LCD outweigh the cons for my use case. Even if burn-in is averted, the uneven wear of the subpixels can cause some color shifts over time. I use my phone frequently for photo editing, so again, use case matters. If your desktop is your primary workstation, subtle color shifts on your phone are probably irrelevant.

If MicroLED becomes a thing though and is proven, I’d probably jump on that with all haste. All the advantages of OLED with virtually none of the disadvantages is obviously appealing.

My eyes see the past…

My camera lens sees the present…
