Hehe. I do all measuring and drawing after she goes to sleep, and try do as much work as I can when she naps during the days. Sometimes (once a month lol) my wife goes to meet friends who also have babies, so I get a full day to mod ;)

Best regards,

Justin.

My baby wakes up the slightest noise so even just pre-work can wake her up. Last night the camera shutter woke her up. Makes things very difficult :)

What are you using as a backdrop? I'm starting to think i should up my game in the taking photos department in my build log rather than just on the kitchen table like i have been

Thanks for the sub, glad you're enjoying the build!

I have a Canon 500D with a 50mm f/1.4. Manfrotto tripod.

These were taken in the light tent last night.

All I've got is a T3i with stock lens :(

Still takes pretty pictures ^_^

Your camera is 'better' than mine then a revised model.

Stock lens being a 18-55mm?

Still a fine lens, heaps of people recommend the Canon 50mm I had a bit more to spend so bought the 1.4 but have a look at the f/1.8 Very cheap lens and take great shots.

Yeah, my camera came with the 18-55mm and also a 55-250mm.

I'm going to buy a pancake lens soon. Seen some very beautiful build log shots with one.

I almost wish I bought the 60mm Macro instead, but this gives me an excuse to buy a 100mm Macro :)

So i use these torches for my sleeving and I must go through 1 a month, they just dont work...

3669181.jpg

I just bought one of these which seems better for heatshrink as its flameless but not for melting the end of the sleeve, I might get a jet lighter for that. What does everyone else use for sleeving? A normal lighter is OK for melting sleeve but electric heatguns are crap on heatshrink.

I have started to use a camping gas stove. Leave it running on

lowest flame possible, works like a charm.

Interesting approach. I guess it would work well for both sleeve and heat shrink but it wouldn't help me with this PSU as it's not modular.

I really like the little butane torches, most people

Would find them too hot I think but they worked really well for me, they just always seem to stop working after a shirt time. I wonder how many I could get replaced under warranty...

That might be the next thing, I'll just keep returning them for replacements.

The IRODA is working out well for shrinking close to the PCB, but it's not hot enough to instantly melt sleeve ends.

I didnt think of that, my psu 24 and 8 pin aren't modular...do you use heatshrink to melt the sleeve? Or is the jet lighter hot enough to do it without shrink?

Ah yeah, forgot about that, I've been working with fully modular PSUs

for so long now. :D
