[DEAD] "Old Goat" The 775 Shuttle is reborn! - Nope, Bricked it. Project is Dead.

d33g33

So this is my challenge, after some doodling I think this is solution but its gonna be tight. I only have 2mm in the adapter plate to work with.

I got the Galaxy Slim version of the 750Ti because I only want 1 slot but the whole thing is really compressed. Even the mounting holes. Mine are rectangular in pattern where reference isn't...

If this doesn't work I will have to sell off this card for a reference one. :S

This is reference

and this is mine

you could always just zip tie the waterblock to the card

It looks like it is going to be tight between the adapter and the pcie slot, good luck getting it to work

So..... this isn't going to work. I'm selling off the 750Ti :(

I think ill get another 750Ti, the EVGA FTW model perhaps. I'm not sure how soon something like a 760Ti will be coming which would be even better!

I think there is a 760Ti, but it's an OEM-only card. :(

I just realised I don't think my PSU has a 6 pin power out. I'll have to look. If its doesn't I'll get the SC version, if it does, the FTW version :)

EDIT: No 6pin :(

EDIT 2: Orrrrrrr I could make a 6pin out of 2x molex adapters... :D

It's a Shuttle SilentX 250w PSU. It's model is a PC40. I looked up the 300w "upgrade" but it has the same connectors.

Yeah from what I can tell there isn't a PCI-E power on it either. :(

That's ok. I'll make one :) though I may need to look at estimated wattages of a Q9550 and a OC'd 750ti FTW. I think it has 3 molex and 2 Sata. I only need 1 Sata and 1 molex the rest are spare. :)

Both together you're right.

It's an IR receiver wired directly to the PSU for an IR power switch :)

You have my attention, sir.

Where did you get this thing? Also do you need a specific transmitter for it?

I got it from here http://www.simerec.com/

There are 2 versions, a 2 button for seperate on/off or one button that does both, on/off.

No you program it with an existing IR device.  B)

Oh and I have this to use. Its a very compact fan controller out of my Define R4. Perfect for this project it will be super tiny when I shorten all the wires.

You didn't quote anything here? but I'm assuming you're talking about the 750 Ti FTW? It's any interesting opinion. I have had a EVGA GTX670 SuperClocked and it was a terrible overclocker and I was very dissapointed. I said I would never go EVGA again. Then I bought my GTX 780 Ti... Superclocked... another EVGA card and again it's not a great overclocker.

According to PC Per the PNY card destroys the EVGA card video below

I also thought to myself... maybe I should go a full new rig for the media center PC, a Xeon, mATX with SLI 750 Ti's... it was very appealing! Maybe it will get replaced after my end of year bonus, we'll see how the rest of the Maxwell cards turn out...
