Is this a bug or a feature?

I tried to disconnect the case's front panel USB hub connector from the motherboard, and the plastic came off with it...

Well I know they list these ASRock cheap motherboards as very nice value for the money, but damn, this motherboard is already the replacement after the first one died a few days after using it:

LolASRock.thumb.jpg.4f4fde47ec6a9eac7b189b9540a44d6d.jpg

And I bought it from Amazon US, and I'm not from the US, so no warranty(or yes, but shipping costs more than the motherboard).

So I can't recommend those cheap ASRocks to anyone. You really should pay a few extra $$ to get better quality products. You'll end up paying more lol.. And this entire board feels flimsy and cheap, even for worse vrms if you're not OCing

The plastic coming off is NOT unique to cheap motherboards, ASRock, or both. It's a "feature" of that front header connector, in that it's SUPER hard to get on and off and if you screw it up you have bent pins.

Any motherboard can do that. Pull the plastic mount off and reinstall in on the USB header.

Haha yes I have no idea why they make it so hard... But it's 2/2 for this motherboard.. Maybe it's a coincidence but these are 2 different issue so they just build up

This connector is just a very poor design from the start.

Ok so they do it on purpose? I might have been too grumpy because it's the second time this board had issues (it's already a replacement) I might remove the last part of my post that sounds like a cry baby... 🤣😂

Please stop, I can only get so erect. The bulky-ass USB 3 cable we have now can choke on one.

No, it's a poor design for that header. It's common, but not a feature.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

It's just a crappy design, but it's not the fault of the motherboard manufacturer. The USB 3 header is just a mess.

Thanks guys, I put the plastic back on (It was hard considering the holes are really tiny, the pins move around and it's therefore hard to align it perfectly.. But I did it.. till the next time, or the next Type-E motherboard
