Ah I thought so as well until I realized the b450 requires 8pin and not 4pin.. time for a new PSU

  • 1 month later...

I am not sure whether you already got the solution.

However, I ensured that this model has been EOL.

Personally suggest you consider the Hydro M PRO 550W.

This is kind of upgraded model of fsp400-60hcn.

Absolutely never even heard of them and by visual appearance of the power supply questioned and price it has been sold for in the past, it looks absolute junk. In the PSU tier list they also have one model that is listed in the unknown/trash section. Googling that model (or the brand) also gives nothing solid to assume they're a known brand and quality.

Trying to give advice about PSUs when you haven't even heard of FSP, and judging based on visual appearance... That's like trying to give advice about GPUs, but never having heard of Nvidia, and only judging by the cooler 😛

Only judging by the RGB*

Also when will people stop telling one of the authors of the tier list to look at the tier list…like come on, that isn’t a defense.

Visual appearance can tell a lot about quality. it's been sold like 30 EUR in the past, that's absolute trash tier pricing... Also if FSP was a well known brand, people would be talking about this brand far more and it'd be widely available. Now tell me again how it is a wide known and quality brand???

One of the authors of the tier list? If OP was author of the tier list, he wouldn't be asking here such questions over a afaik discontinued PSU that is what, 2012, 2013 model?.

The System Power B9 looks like garbage, but it at least has DC-DC for the secondary. The EVGA G1 NEX looks decent, but is absolute garbage.

Doesn't matter if FSP is a well known brand among clueless people like you, they are the OEM for most of Be Quiet's and EVGA's PSUs. Just like any other company, they are capable of making good products, and also garbage. Not that it matters, as you should judge the product in question, not what brand it's from. Leave that for the 12 year old fanboys out there. 🙂

Elisis does work on the PSU tier list. If you have such issues remembering who you just replied to, you could check out this link:

Why do you then start talking about the brand overall? The model in question deserves to be thrown in the bin. They can be manufacturer for some good stuff, but doesn't mean they are well known and quality brand nor that the PSU in question is good quality. I am still waiting for the explanation of how they are such a well known brand and yet you barely find anything about them or their PSUs when searched on the internet.

I never told them to LOOK at the list. I said another PSU model from this brand is in the unknown/garbage section on the list. do you have trouble with basic text comprehension? Also CLEARLY the PSU in question nor the BRAND of the PSU in question is not in the reputable PSUs section of the list. Perhaps the contributor of the list should then know that.

Stop contradicting yourself, don't put words in other people's mouths and stick to a point when you're trying to have an argument.

Well... try a Google search.

FSP(Fortron Source Power) is a huge company that has been producing PSUs for quite some time. They even made it into the top 10 by revenue a few years ago, and are true 'Tier 1' OEMs doing pretty much everything in-house.

Yes, some of the units they manufacture are garbage units(old Hyper Non Pro series). And there are some pretty decent units(Hydro G PRO/PTM PRO, BeQuiet Straight power 11). There is also a very good unit(BeQuiet DarkPower 12).

All brands are the same about this. Most brands such as SeaSonic, SuperFlower, Corsair, Enermax etc. have often made problematic or terrible PSUs, but there are plenty of great ones too. Seon explained this well and I don't know why you think this is a contradiction.

Well... I am not trying to argue or tell you what is right or wrong... I think everyone has its own perspective. However, I would like to provide some information to you and maybe you already know.

If you would like to see the Tier list of PSU, you can see most of brands or suppliers have the numerous models in different Tier.

It means you can just evaluate a brand by just one model. Maybe FSP is not really famous or well know by some people. But it really doesn't mean that it is a bad manufacturer or they manufacture the junk PSU....

I think you also know that FSP Group majorly focuses on the industrial level PSU then offer the ODM and OEM service to other brands like Corsair, Cool Master and Antec? FSP won't just publicly let everyone know about this. It will hurt their business.

However, there must be some reasons that these suppliers will choose FSP to produce the PSU for them.

FSP used to manufacture the shit PSU and good PSU at the same time in order to meet the demand from the marketing.

Some people just don't really care the quality of PSU but rather prefer the low cost product....

However, with the strong competitiveness from marketing, they gradually improve the bad PSU as well.

Overall, I will say that this issue is not regarding whether the FSP is famous or not.

It is like if you really understand the PC component, you will understand the details between the manufacturer and supplier.

Maybe you should check the newest model Hydro PTM PRO and Hydro G PRO series.
