Write a function that receives 2 strings, that are split with spaces into words, and retruns the count of the words that are contained in both strings

Could you show some evidence that this is actually the case?

There is nothing wrong with asking for help even if it is to do with homework.

The issue is when people ask for their homework to be done for them, which as far as i am aware is not actually against any rules but it a rather rubbish way to learn.

This is your personal opinion. As of right now this is not disallow per the community standard page I just re-read because I was certain this forum was not a stackoverflow.

I've seen multiple such posts killed by mods on this forum. This one seems to have escaped their gaze I guess.

This is an wrong decision of the mod(s) in question. They should be reminded of reading the forum community standards maybe they just forgot some rules.

Personally I don't usually answer these type of questions unless the person show enough work do on his side and just need a little push to perfect his work.

This is why the school's network admin should have disconnected the internet connection to the laboratory. It's what our college did. But then again this could be an online class, not an option.
