What can I do with an old Intel/AMD stock cooler?

38034580

What are some ways I repurpose both the heatsink and the fan of the cooler, as one unit? This won't be used in any PC.

Can't sell it, too old and consumes 2.5 times its rated amperage/

I've never found any way to use both, but I did remove the fan from an AM3 stock cooler and used it on my case. It's a nice fan.

I mean, I guess you could screw the heatsink into the wall(?)

@FakeKGBWHat about the Intel fan?

I've never touched an Intel stock cooler, but based on Google it looks like the fan is part of the cooler assembly.

You could cut the plastic holding it to the plastic rim around the outside of the cooler, and then the fan's free, but it'll be really annoying to mount.

Sell it..

Remove the heatsink and use the fan as a desk fan for when it gets too hot outside.

Make a do-it-yourself audio amplifier and use the heatsink/fan to cool the audio amplifier chip.
