What weird things do your pets do?

Hello, just curious on some weird habits peoples pets have. I'll start, today my dog chased and killed a mouse as if he was a cat. Funny thing is he is not nearly as agile as a cat and he has arthritis and he somehow killed the mouse. Poor mouse.

I have a 5 foot monitor lizard. If he is hungry, he will climb up my leg to get my attention, then when I am looking at him, he will climb down, and walk to the fridge and stare at it, and then back to me, until I go to the freezer part and get him mice.

 

Oh, and he can count to 10, he knows if I shortchange him on mice.

Sound like dealing with a toddler XD. And why would you shortchange a good boy on mice?

My Crested Gecko always keeps watch of a certain doorway entering the room her Vivarium is in. It's weird.

Hmm, strange. Do you go through that doorway often? Maybe they just want to see you.

Eh. If she wants attention she paces back and forth along the front of the vivarium until either me or my Fiancee gives her attention. I wonder if she can see something that I can't.

Perhaps it's just a particularly fine doorway, who knows.

My dog used to go to the door to say when she wanted to use the bathroom now she just pees randomly.

My cat Ozzie serves as a bug alert system.
If there is a bug like a moth or something flying around in the house he'll "Chitter" and let us know we have a guest that needs "Evicting".
He'll even look where it is and track it for us to find.

My dog now has to be took out every 2 hours or he pees on the bathroom floor. He now just pants when he needs to go.

A very large, carnivorous toddler...

One time the bag only had 9 mice left, so that's what he got. He keep wandering around the kitchen looking for that last one.

So the next time I gave him 11.

He ate 10, and left the last one.

No, she is about my age.

My family has an 11 year old dog who won't get in the car. Like refuses. As in we have to pick him up to get him in the car. He weighs ~130 pounds so it's no easy task picking up a heavy, flailing animal. He used to not be so grumpy but he hit his midlife crisis 2 years ago and is now extremely stubborn.

My dog can be rather stubborn too. I remember one time we were giving him a shower and he wouldn't go upstairs so we had to get him lifted up into the bathroom.

ok so this wierd and manyother things connect

so sometimes the meat she eats is not good enough for her, so ill put in some cat food and magiclly shell eat it. WHAT

this goes for water too, if i give water by itself sometimes she wont drink it if i add a bit of milk magic she drinks it

then goes the meowing, shell meow for different things diferent ways which confuses alot of me, like shell want to go outside or want food, or sleep oon the couch im sitting on, LIKE PLS WE NEED A CAT TRANSLATOR, ill post more about this if i find more

My cat will do the head movement for sup when he wants food and you make eye contact with him. He's almost 20 years old and has gotten extremely good at communicating with you in various forms

He's not a Komodo (they are endangered and thus illegal to own) but he is in the same family, Varanus.

Varanus Rudicollis, Roughneck Monitor. The bite from any Varanus is bad, but he is docile (not tame, but docile)

 

Fun fact: The venom in the mouth of the Komodo comes from the diet, in captivity, they are no longer venomous.

Whenever I get home, eventually my cat will glue herself to my shoes sniffing them for 10+ minutes and rolling in them like they're made of catnip.

Can relate - Our oldest will be 20 in July and sometimes when you talk to him he'll answer.
He's even had "Conversations" with me before, I'll say something to him and he'll answer "Mrrrph" each time.
Also does that if he knows you've just walked into the room to say "Hey - What's up".
I say "If he knows" because he's blind now (Age related) but he still hears and all else just fine.
