You don't need 1000w, 850w is enough.

You still have a few blanks in your build. This is how i'd fill them up:

As you are obviously in the high-end market i included 2 monitors. The best 165Hz 1440p monitor on the market and something higher end if you wanna use your 3090 and rather play at 240Hz 1440p. Also included a recommendation for a nice mouse and keyboard.

And like @SupaKomputa said, a 1000W PSU would be overkill. You're good with 850W. If you still insist on 1000W, i'd go for THIS.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Ok, you should get a 1000W power supply because of the spikes in power draw from the 3090. But a premium 850W power supply is decent. I like the Corsair HX1000i, Seasonic Prime Titanium 1000W unit, or even a EVGA Supernova GA 1000W.

A good 850W~1000W PSU is fine.

A lot of people having problems using EVGA SuperNova GA, SeaSonic Prime Titanium with Ampere GPU.

I wasn't aware of that. is it because of the power spikes?

No, According to @jonnyGURU, the AX850, which is almost identical to SeaSonic Prime Titanium, does not work properly with FE, EVGA FTW3, and the PSU shuts down due to abnormal noise inflow from the +12V sense wire, not due to spikes.

In the case of GA, nothing is known.

Yeah, it's a lot more expensive than the AXi, which is one dimension up.

Please cancel.

It's based on a Seasonic Prime Platinum, so I'd think it's a good power supply to recommend

Not for that money.

I would argue that an HX/HXi is far better built than a Seasonic Prime.

And Asus made the Prime worse with the poorly designed heatsinks (fashion over function) and a Futaba OLED that only has a two year life.

But hey.. at least it comes with CableMod cables!

Have you tested this out? I've seen thermal IR photos in Aris' reviews and it seems to run at similar or cooler temperatures than Seasonic's stock heatsinks. Is there a better way to judge, though?

Two years? You sure? Are they that bad? It's weird seeing ASUS guaranteeing 3 years warranty on it. Maybe it's better than no OLEDs at all though 😄.

But it's true, I'd take the HX any day over the Thor.
