You can't really ask for people to sell you things on this forum, especially with one post.

As for when will the madness end, I imagine it'll take at least a year if not longer. Gotta wait for COVID to sort itself, and then supply to return to regular levels.

Easiest way to get a card at a reasonable price is to buy a prebuilt.

Understandable frustration, I currently want to get rid of my 980Ti for the same card. But yeah selling here is not allowed.

You need a GPU; so does seemingly everyone else. You either pay the inflated prices or you wait. That's how it is unfortunately.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

reasonable, no.

you have 3 Options:

  1. buy a card from ebay for a absurd ammount of what it is actually worth
  2. buy a somewhat older generation, to get you over this crisis and upgrade later on
  3. sell all your parts, and buy a prebuilt system

very grim, I know but not much you can do rn

Oh dang, I mean this is just crazy, I never knew that it was because of covid, I just always thought it was because of those freaking crypto miners

It's due to many things.

1. Worldwide silicon shortage

2. Less workers due to COVID
3. More demand due to COVID

4. Large-scale crypto miners

I completely forgot about them.

In my mind, they're just a fact of life now.

I mean, you can spend time on eBay and eventually find a deal that goes through quite cheap.

Nope, there's many different reasons. There's also insane demand. There's tons of gamers that are managing to get cards, the mining is probably not nearly as big of a deal as people blow it out to be.

You could pay like more money than normal

buy 20 series card (IDK about prices)

get older/low preformance games.

I play lower arcade and FPS games

Osu- legit requires nothing to run

R6 vegas and vegas 2 runs on a i5 3400 with igpu at ~60 fps (on old school 4:3 monitor)

Of course theres always the douchebag approach as it is with all problem solving tips:

Go on Craigslist or any local second hand site and look for a good system with nice specs,

write the people that you would like to buy off their gpu, with a little luck you might encounter an older person or teen who doesnt know about the ongoing crisis, and buy their gpu for cheap.

Be warned though, since this approach will lead you to a path to hell 😄 😄

There's also been 17 drops of 6700 XTs on Amazon this morning. Just keep trying. It's getting more and more common to see drops.

MSRP is a myth.

They were looking for a deal, the prices seemed unreal.
