My old 27" BenQ cant, actually. DVI-Dual Link and DP works.

Thats why I have to use an HDMI to DP adapter.

Youll have to look the the specs if your monitor does support it or not, but Im pretty sure it will be the same as my Monitor

there is no such refresh rate adapter, the only adapter that are exist out there is the following : HDMI to DP, DP to HDMI, HDMI to VGA (active), DVI-I/DVI-D to VGA and so on

it is impossible, the only thing those adapters do is converting PHYSICAL connector and not converting signal, so it will not get to 144Hz

There are adapters that convert the signal from HDMI to DP.

thank you so much that's really helpful  , i still got one problem does my USB C support display output ? I have  MSI GF75 Thin 9RCX

The spec says the HDMI port (on the laptop) supports 4K @ 30Hz, so I'm assuming it is a HDMI 1.4a.

So yes, it should have enough bandwidth to support 1080p @ 144 Hz.

HDMI 1.4a has a max bandwidth of ~8.2 Gbps.

4K @ 30Hz require ~6.2 Gbps, while 1080p @ 144Hz requires ~8.0 Gbps.

Now, you got to look at the spec of the monitor, because SOME only support the advertised resolution + refresh rate using SPECIFIC ports.

(i.e. like my friend's Samsung monitor, he MUST use HDMI2 for 144Hz .... HDMI1 only does 60Hz)

Annnnnd.... you CANNOT use the HDMI port (on the monitor) to get 144Hz.

You NEED to use either the DVI port, or DisplayPort -- it says in the monitor documentation.

So either a HDMI-to-DP, or USB-C to DP

(Laptop) -to- (Monitor)

Would recommend recommend USB-C to DP just to play it safe.

Something like this would be fine.

So I don't know if this contributes very well to this topic, I have been using a 144hz monitor on my laptop which has a 60hz screen. The specs are there and can run games extremely smoothly, plugging the monitor into the laptop by itself wont run higher than 60hz. I came across a way to combat this by disabling the laptops screen it wont detect a limit to HZ like a computer would, this was the only real way i could run games at 144hz on a 60hz laptop screen.
