Why are graphics cards so expensive right now?

Coupon92123

Hello everyone,

Currently, each person's need to use and own a computer is huge. Almost everyone has a tree or a laptop for themselves. Society has developed, so there are more and more jobs related to technology. That makes computer equipment more and more expensive, especially the graphics card. I don't understand why at the present time the price of computer graphics card is so expensive. Could it be because of the bitcon craze? Can everyone share their opinion?

Thanks everyone.

Supply and demand, essentially.

Manufacturers can't keep up with the demand, meaning the graphics cards get more expensive, meaning the scalpers see an opportunity to make money. Add in the mining and you get a perfect mixture for graphics cards to be very expensive.

Because the alt. currency USD is losing traction and the other alt. currencies are gaining traction.

If the Federal Reserve can print it(USD), and its value is backed solely by taxation, which provides a guarantee that the Government has a circulating currency to pay back its debt to the Banksters - well why have a middle man, instead lets create our own currency - since we decide its value.  Oh and its finite.  Each coin has a limit, unlike, for example, the USD.

Must be mining. Used GTX 1060 costs $210 here where I live while GTX 1070 costs $510.

Mixture of things. Silicon shortage, high demand, cryptomining, scalpers and opportunistic profiting. Some of these are also exacerbated by Covid in various ways.

Thanks you so much for your comment.

After all, it's probably still due to the need to mine bitcoin
