I'm interested to know, what do you plan on doing once Maxwell comes out and is a success. Do you plan on throwing your card/s in a gpu bucket and buying new cards or SLI more of your current card/s?

I am probably going to SLI. It really depends on what Maxwell brings. 

If it's 20nm I'm all in for the 880.

Neither. I'm going 1080p with a 780. Games are barely getting any more demanding. Gunna keep going with a single 780. I probably wont feel like I need to upgrade for another 3 years.

I'm not really looking forward to Maxwell all that much. I'm more looking to trade up for a 6GB model of a 780ti. It'll help for my 1440p G-Sync monitor (that I plan to get whenever those release)

Keep it the same. Unless there are unbelievable performance improvements, there wouldn't really be any point in having the 770 if I was simply going to be buying an 800 series card after only a year or so. Not worth spending money I don't have to get only 4 or 5 extra fps.

You do know that just that the 700 cards don't slow down when 800 is released they're still very powerful especially the 780ti. So there's no need to do anything I'm gonna be play maxed out 60 fps for a the next couple years easily.

i think it will have 3000 CUDA cores. 120 Cuda cores jump from 780 TI would be gud

I'm going to stick with my 780. I only bought it after Christmas so it would be stupid to replace it this early, and I doubt it will have enough of a performance improvement to validate spending another £500 (not that I have the money to do so anyway )

Unless maxwell is required for full DX12 compatibility, i see no reason to change from my 780. Especially with G-sync monitors around the corner. 40-50 FPS in games will be more than enough.

I already sold before the price drops will kick in. I keep myself above the surface with a GTX 580 (120€).

 

I knew i couldn't settle on 2 gigs of VRAM for a couple of years, so i decided very early to switch to a powerful maxwell with at least 3-4 gigs VRAM. I sold in december (went through a 280X cuz mining, but that doesn't count), now I'm waiting. I'll probably wait at least until august, when prices have settled, and the higher VRAM model of the individual cards have released too.
