Can't find a Cheap Gigabit Coaxial Modem that IS NOT a Router Combo

I've been looking for a VERY cheap Coaxial Gigabit Modem that doesn't have a router for about 3 hours now lmao. I have a Nighthawk X4S Router which can do Gigabit but I need to upgrade my modem. I've been looking and I cant find one cheap. I don't need name brand or one that looks nice.

Anyone have any ideas or modems?

what speed do you have from your isp?

something like a sb8200 is probably a good option if you have a gig plan, but if you have slower plans there are ceaper options.

I have 300 but upgrading to gigabit in the next few days and I'm done paying $10 a month to rent a modem

thats wifi speed, not modem speed.

then your gonna want a pretty high end like the cm1200 or sb8200.

Also make sure those are on the allowed list from your isp.

The man needs a fiber port. Not an Ethernet jack....

Where are you located?

It is usually easiest to source one locally at a store that deals with wires networking and such.

why would then need fiber, they seem to need a docsis modem.

Also ethernet can run over fiber

Ah sorry no clue about USA.....

But I would call up a local supplier? Hear in the EU it is pretty easy to get a hold of one. They usually also know what is white and black listed by the local ISPs.

Like a company that sells kit and does network installs.

Oh we have plenty of those too dont worry:D

Recently a guy tried to sell me 500m of cat 12 cables to hook up 12 security cameras in an apartment building 😄

Not on every floor mind you just the parking at the ground flour the elevator technical rooms entrance and 4 perimeter cameras....

I ended up needing less than 200..... And that was with me botching 2 runs.

Never mind the like 50% premium on the crappiest HikVision cameras ever.....

I was turning in some cable boxes that I no longer use to save money, first thing they did was try to sell me a phone, then tell me that I need a special optimum modem for gigabit that would cost around $200 plus monthly maintenance fees of $10 a month. I was like na, I'll just do it myself lol

Yea it should be plug and play.

Then you probably enter account and password in the router.

Our genius ISP use like obvious account names and passwords for every install like address and apartment NR.

And you can not change those.

Lucky that the walls are concrete..... And probably nobody is just going to put a switch in between but I have seen it happen in business boxes like production storage small offices etc.....

Is that basically a copper TV cable?

Or am I missing something?

Have not seen those in years either. Was never popular here.

I sort of assumed if modem then fiber optic......

Here you either get those in every unit or they put one central and run cat to every unit.

Yep. I just use a modem/router combo in bridge mode. I forget that it even has a router built in.
