Questionare101

Hi I currently run a MSI AERO GTX 1070 Aero (Non-ITX) in the Razer Core X eGPU box (macBook Pro in Bootcamp). Ive seen the new RTX 3000 series and I found out they are planning on releasing the rtx 3050ti. My current graphics card sells for $170-$300 on eBay which would be enough to buy the 3050ti. I've looked at the specs and the RTX 3050ti is supposedly going to be as good the as the RTX 2070 super/ RTX 2080. Here are my questions:

1) Is it worth it to sell my GTX 1070 before the RTX 3050 is released?

2) Will it work with the thunderbolt 3 eGPU case that I have

No it isn't.

It will not be on sale for MSRP because all the scalpers will get it and sell it for 5x that price

1) No, no new card has sold at msrp after day 1. Expect the budget card the 3050ti is meant to be to go for hundreds more easily especially since that will be a immensely popular card probably

2) Probably day one drivers might not agree but really that is up to the first people that test it to find out

3050 TI isn't going to be as good as a 2070 super/2080, the 3060 (non ti) is only expected to be as good as like a 2070 I believe, I would say the 3050 TI at best would be slightly more powerful then a Rtx 2060

It's probably worth it as an upgrade, but not worth the gamble of selling your card before you have the new one because stock isn't guaranteed and neither is "msrp"
