Can I still the do the Folding@home thingy?

you may also want to check out BOINC and other such distributed computing, to see what cause you wanna support

make sure your PC is adequately cooled too, happy contributing!

Okay2 thank you, I am downloading it right now.

side note, if it's a laptop i would recommend you to be extra careful as some laptops arent really great for 100% load 24/7

@Den-Fi may be able to clarify this for you

i believe there are tasks for both CPU and GPU

I believe it is set to use both from the start. However you can (and it is recommend to) disable cpu folding and only use your gpu.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Quote or tag me so I can see your response

You can choose, if you use the FAHControl thing.

I have it set to use my GPUs as my CPU instantly hits 105C and then the room heats up a lot.

My GPUs use a blower design, so I have an external fan that blows the air away from it and by my feet, warming (or cooling, depending on how hard the GPUs are working) my feetses.

Yes, CPU isn't vastly beneficial to score, while having a large impact on your thermals. So use the advanced folding control, remove the CPU slot in options, and always remember that @Eschewis cute.

Yeah, it's rather heavy. You can tell it how many cores to use to reduce that, but again... just remove the CPU slot.

Does it always have a major impact on CPU thermals? My R7 2700 is always running F@H and right now it's only at 60°. It also does get a decent chunk of my daily points.

That's what I figured. I just leave my CPUs running. Most of my F@H systems don't even have GPUs.
