Glass vs Film: phone screen protection

Video Beagle

I recently got a new iPhone...after MANY years with my old one...my old one, you used a film/sticker on the screen for scractch protection....but when I look at amazon, I'm seeing now you put a piece of tempered glass instead. (and I see sizes like .25 and .33)

Is tempered glass better than the film was? Is film good enough (if even can be found), and anyone know what the different sizes mean/affect?

Film feels like ass, tempered glass feels slightly better.

The size is the thickness of the glass.

and with film you can if unlucky get air stuck under the film, like i have two places, and i can't get it out

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.

I prefer glass above a film, but if the film is already applied at factory (many Huawei devices have this, including my P30), then I'd suggest leaving it on.

Glass does protect better and feel a lot better, but it can be easier to accidentally peel off. Some scratches can also reach the screen through the film while glass does not.

Depends on the fit and finish. I cannot stand glass screen protectors where there is like half 1.5mm gap on each side and for some reason every single one of the ones I can find for my phone are like that. I installed a film screen protector on my phone on day one because I really dont enjoy small scratches on my phones.

I prefer 1$ Aliexpress glass.

No, really. Paying 20$ for a sheet of glass on Amazon is a complete rip off

Why use a screenprotector at all?

I’ve never had it or a case and have never broken a smartphone (bought my first smartphone in 2007). Over time I have gotten some light scratches on the screen, but never anything that is distracting and never anything worse than you get on a plastic film (which is distracting).

Accidents happen and the glass screen protectors offer almost the same feel as the original glass. Plus the resale value should be higher if the display is pristine.
