Biostar ASIC Enabled Motherboards to be ready

It seems that motherboard manufacturer Biostar has just announced the release of ASIC enabled motherboards. These boards that will be on sale will have ASIC chips, made specifically for mining, embedded in the board.  The BTC-24GH, which contains 64 embedded ASIC chips, will have the output of 24 GH/s of a ashrate. This is the equivalent of 30 7970/280X GPUs all at once!

Ever since the crash and now the slow rise of Bitcoin just recently, it will only be time to tell if this will be viable. With such a performance, it seems to be very well done by Biostar since they have so much power in a smaller space. Only thing is that the price is not specified and may be high due to miners.

Surely that doesn't matter to non-miners :)

This will probs be as expensive as those dedicated mining boxs which is stupid coz they already have something like this why make another?

Bitcoin miners haven't been using GPU's in a LONG time. There are no floods of GPU's that are going to be sold.

Ah, I was under the impression you could use it for LTC too. Feel free to ignore what I said :)

Well, LTC Asics are coming out soon ;0 so you're no entirely wrong about the flood of GPU's.

Of course, one has to wonder what state the GPUs would be in, having been run at 100% for ages. The fan bearings might be on their last legs, for example.

The chips look like they are about the same size as the 4pin power connector, and don't forget that they are purely for mining. They don't have the "unnecessary" fluff that GPUs have.

As soon as the litecoin capable boards come out, all should be fine with AMD again, and hopefully Maxwell if the 750 Ti is proof of something.

If they're cheap enough, I might buy a used R9 290/X when GPU mining dies for laughs.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.
