How bad will bottlenecking be for me

TheHamburgler

I just got a i7 9700k and want to upgrade my GPU, however, im probaby going to wait a few month to buy one bc of the scummy scalping that is going on. I want to know just how bad Bottlenecking will be fore me considering my cpu will be a 9700k and I have a rx 480 4gb as my current GPU. Will it be bad for my pc to run these two components simultaneously?

your computer won't run into any physical problems or damage when using this hardware together

ignore any bottleneck you might have because the graphics card is temporary. It just doesn't matter.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Sorry forgot to say what type of games i play. I primarily play esports titles like csgo and rocket league. However i occasionally play triple A titles with friends.

You don't need to worry about "damaging" your components, there won't be any. You just won't get the fps you need since the GPU is so old.

PC: Acer Predator Helios 300: corei7-7700HQ, GTX 1050Ti 4GB, 8GB DDR4 2400MHz, 128GB SSD+1024GB HDD, Logitech G102 Prodigy+Circle Gaming Pro.

The key missing feature is the monitor.  That gpu will be good for 1080p@60. If you don’t have more monitor there no reason to even get a bigger gpu. The 9700k iirc is fast 8/8. It’s going to have no problems till games specifically built for the consoles are designed then ported to PC.  A few years from now. Even then what problems may crop up are unknown.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

My monitor runs 1080p and is 165hz. Basically my GPU is now the only thing that is out of date thats why i want to upgrade

Ah.  So how long will you have to wait for a reasonably priced gpu?  I’ve been hearing Jan/feb.  really though who knows. They can be very occasionally be gotten, which is done by haunting sales sites, getting an order in, and then waiting till what may very well be Jan/feb anyway.  LTT did it’s Christmas buying guide and they actually left the gpu blank on it.

There is insane demand for the 3060/ti and the 3080, but also rumors that the launch day backorders are already fulfilled, another month or 2 make sense, once you see them in stock u can also look for used card (if u don't mind used anyway), 2080 ti's will be going for 400usd lol.

Your cpu will be good for a long time for ur use case, just the gpu.

You have a decent enough GPU for those games and an OP CPU.

My rig is perfect for RL and CSGO, as I built it with those games in mind as those are ones I play.
