Is this cpu and gpu good together

Jonnyd1000

Hey so I am in the process of trying to build a pc and i had a question. I was wondering if MSI GEFORCE RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X 10G would be good with a i9-9900k 8 core 16 thread cpu???? if not any other cpu that you would recommend that would go good with the 3080

1. Uhmm... why wouldn't they be is the real question?

2. If you're building a PC, why in 2020 would you go with an i9-9900K?

3. I'm assuming that you already have a Z370 or Z390 motherboard on hand then, correct?

4. If not, then that's a terrible value proposition.

yeah if you don't already own the motherboard for this CPU don't spend a dime on it...AMD has faster CPU for less money now.

Lol, I am thinking of getting the z390-a pro motherboard is that good ?? Or no. I am trying to build a desktop this summer and was thinking it was good with the i9-9900k. Are there better cpus that would be better with the gpu?

I haven’t bought it. I am trying to look for parts online so that I can be ready to build it in the summer. There was a sale for the i9 for 300 so I thought that was pretty good. Do you think it’s worth it at that price or do you still think it’s worth to get an AMD CPU

The 5600X is also $300, and has quite a bit faster single core performance, which is useful for gaming, and almost as good multi core performance as the 9900K. And the 5600X includes a fan, and you won't need such a high end motherboard to support it. And by the summer it'll be back in stock.

Thanks, I will have to start researching on that CPU. are there any good 8 core CPUs that are 300-450 for me to watch out for to be on sale ??

The 5800X is $450 and has 8 cores and is much faster than the 9900k at everything. The 10700k is good, just not as good as 5000 series AMD.

I’m going to have to look into the other CPU and keep an eye out for this one. Thanks for helping me, much appreciate
