Google enables controversial extension Manifest V3

LWM723

The problem is that people will still use Chrome despite this.

What we need is people switching en-masse to something different, but fanboys will still claim that Chrome is somehow inherently superior, however anti-consumer Google makes it.

Also yes... world's largest advertising company doesn't like adblockers... no sh*t....

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

There is no browser to rival chrome really. I would gladly switch to something else if there would be anything viable.

Firefox.

It's not perfect, but it's not as bad as Chrome.

It's worse than chrome, at least I can't get used to it, and it is slower than chrome.

Fair enough... I disagree, but I'll leave it there to avoid starting a browser flamewar...

-> Moved to Programs, Apps and Websites

@LWM723, this thread does not follow formatting nor guidelines required for Tech News post. You had option to use them, since you have completely removed the premade form. This can be moved back if fixed.

I've also edited your post to fix link.

There are a few open source alts based on the chrome code, Cent Broswer is one. I use it, seems to work well and it doesn't implement everything that Google creates, so there's that

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Hi @LogicalDrm
Not sure what "formatting nor guidelines required" weren't right for you, but as I used Palemoon for this post, the "form", as you refer to it, looks nonsensical. This crap wasn't there before. Somebody's "brilliant" idea I guess? Anyways, this is more relative to Tech News than to Programs and Apps. Just thought it may have been of interest to someone. I'll post a small snippet of the way it appears in Palemoon (w/ noscript):

@LWM723 As you will note below in the link and the photo the Guidelines and template are fairly clear on how the expectations are layout.

If you have further questions please PM myself or another Mod and we would b happy clear up any additional concerns or confusion you may have.

Until the topic meets the guidelines this topic will remain in the Programs, Apps and Websites section as in its current form is the most appropriate place for it. I do suggest having a look at some other Tech News topics to get an idea of how they look as well.

You have the ability to edit your own topic by selecting the pencil icon at the bottom of your post.

As found in the Community Standards under Tech News;

And as you created the topic:
