Posted November 24, 2020 since rumor suggest 3060ti will be 5% faster than 2080s, and it got 17% less cores than 3070, I assume 2080s equal to 3060ti at $400 for now from youtube benchmarks, 2080s seems to handle most aaa games from 80~120fps, meaning users had to drop graphics setting to get.more fps just like gtx970 said to be perfect 1080p GPU, which didn't age well, is 2080s in similar position? Posted November 24, 2020 We don't yet have concrete evidence yet, but even if this is the case the 2080S is still a good GPU for 100-144fps at 1440p. Every GPU from the RTX 20xx lineup feels like bad value now. But hindsight is 20/20. 31 minutes ago, SAVE-12-HK said: just like gtx970 said to be perfect 1080p GPU, which didn't age well, is 2080s in similar position? We have no way of really predicting this, games will get more demanding, that's a given. But how long will the 2080S be a relevant performer remains to be seen. Unless you have a crystal ball you aren't sharing. I'm still rocking my 1080Ti, gets me close to 100FPS at 1440p Ulra/High settings. I'm happy with it. Although I do intend to upgrade this gen cycle. But I am in no rush, likely will wait for normal availability, so Q1/Q2 2021. GPUs in my experience have had to be upgraded more frequently than CPUs. That might have to do with the intel 4 core problem though. To do 5 years with a gpu you’re going to have to beat the consoles. I sort of doubt that can be done with anything smaller than a 3700 or a 6800 Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently. Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake. Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere. Remember that anything over 100 FPS looks very smooth compared to 60 FPS; it doesn’t have to be 144 FPS or bust.
