I am building my first pc ever so I wanted to know what the best 3080 graphics card is, that is under $950.

I want to put it it the Phantex p600s case.

The case does not have good airflow with the panels on so you may wanna just change it out for something with a mesh front to avoid temperature issues causing lowered performance.

As for the 3080 it's only supposed to cost 700$ currently the prices are crazy high due to stock issues so basically just wait till they are 1. in stock and 2. at normal price

I am planning to use it with the panels off I don't really care about sound I'm also using 6 fans 3 intake and 3 exhaust and yes higher quality 3080s cost different amounts.

Why not get the p500 then? It looks better without the weird dent the 600s has when the panels are removed. That and it's cheaper. That or the p400 airflowm or p300 airflow.

The asus tuf is really good is supposed to be 720$ so don't go spending 900 on it.

I prefer the look of the p600s and it has better airflow and it has the perfect dimensions I need for everything else

Intentionally make it worse than a base 3080. As in made it clock lower in bios so you would buy their better cards.

Dont read to much into it; its lets say 0.4fps  (4k) to 3fps(1p80p) slower in some games.

Its just a lower end card just like the gigabyte eagle and msi trio (the trio has quieter cooler but under the hood its about the same, you just pay $200 extra for a extra 3rd pcie power connector that serves no purpose as its vrm cant handle more than 2 connectors current lol).

I have one (trinity 3090), and yea its got the "bad poscaps" (which arent poscaps anyway) and have had 0 crashes (bought it *after* the crash hype was resolved with new driver). So much like as with the caps "issue", the minor performance difference is blown way out of proportion.

Ah, the good old days where a 1% performance difference was considered "within margin of error"; today such a difference means "gimped on purpose, hidden scandal, illuminati at work".

Fun fact: oddly enough, in cuda / tensor /video workloads its actually a few % faster than the FE and lower end counterparts like the eagle (which matters to me as 90% of the workloads i do are machine learning); dont know why though.

Additionally, the FE card its compared to is quite capable and compares well component wise to higher end AIB cards, so its actually a surprisingly good result for a  lower end card to be so close to its performance at al.

The ones on the top of the leader boards are the EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultras for 3080's.

They are $810 from EVGA directly.

The FTW3's PCB actually isn't much more impressive than that of ASUS' TUF, this time around. It's probably safe to say that it's actually the least impressive FTW3 of the past few generations.

If OP just wants the best 3080 there is, then that'd be the Strix, though it's not like the availability of these cards allows for much in the way of freedom of choice.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

Display: Gigabyte G34WQC

Going by performance here and what the cards can do.... The FTW3's are at the top of the leader boards, no doubt about that at all.

But yeah the 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra PCB is MUCH better than the 3080 FTW3 Ultra... Plus the binning of the GPU and Memory really made them real monsters for the most part. But they were $1500 cards..... Not $800 cards...

The Hybrid 3080 FTW3 Ultras are coming soon along with the kits so.... Who knows.

The only thing I don't like about the 3080 FTW3 Ultras is they didn't bin the GPUs and Memory this time so it's really a crap shoot what you get as far as OC goes. But like I said they are $800 cards, not $1500 cards like the 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra.

I have my 3rd one coming soon, RMAed the last two, 1st one had issues, 2nd one wasn't a new card like it was supposed to be, another RMA, it sucked anyway for OCing so I am waiting on the 3rd one.
