New build not posting, debug LED says "boot"

Hi,

 

I've been buying parts over the last few months for a new build while i wait for the 3080, but i decided i would put everything together today and make sure everything is working so far but it doesn't seem to boot at the moment.

 

I have a new AMD Cpu with a b550 board, will it still post with that CPU in it as i assume i will need to update the bios for it?

 

Also i've not put any HDDs in yet as im waiting on my 980 pro.

 

Full Spec is: 

 

Corsair 850w

MSI MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

2x Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32 GB (i've tried putting 1 stick in the A2 slot, it didn't work)

MSI NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1030 (was taken from a working PC, just using it to test the other parts)

 

I don't get any beeps on startup, All the fans are spinning, corsair AIO is lit up and all the RGBs are on.

It probably wants a bootable device which it doesn't have.

What you can do is make a live bootable usb flash drive, stick that into your build and run the system from that.

That way you can already completely test the system if you want.

Ah ok thanks for the reply. I hope it's that, So if i just download a windows 10 install to a bootable USB will that work? What did you mean about a live bootable?

Put the newest BIOS on a flash drive and update it with the flash bios function. Details should be on the mobos support page.

Ah perfect! i had the USB Stick all ready with the bios i assumed it would post and i update once i was on the BIOS. Didn't realise about the buttom.

 

All working now and in BIOS, very happy  Now just the long wait for the 3080.

Cool, glad you got it going OK. At least you can install windows and all the chipset drivers etc now while you wait for the 3080.
