New 5600x Build Issue

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
MB: ASUS ROG B550-F Gaming
RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600
PSU: SilentiumPC Supremo FM2 Gold 650W
GPU: MSI GTX 970 OC

ISSUE: Tried booting, fans spin, everything lights up INCLUDING DRAM LED indicator that stays on.

Also no monitor/peripherals input.

 

Tried:
RAM: reseating, seating in different dimm slots, only one stick, one stick in each slot

CPU: reseated the CPU, checked for bent pins
Always the same outcome.

You updated Bios before you put the CPU in yeah?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

have you tried updating bios as mentioned above? 

You can update bios via usb stick, there is a special usb port on the motherboard with a bios flash button. Check manual to see how.

@GeekishNerd You need BIOS version 1004 to properly support Ryzen 5000-series.

If you bought the board earlier this year, before ~August 2020, it will have an older BIOS version (e.g. 0805 or 0608) flashed onto it from the factory.

BIOS version 1004 was released with time-stamp Aug-18-2020.

Only if it came with bios 1004 or newer. Luckily you can update bios without a CPU. Just use a zip drive and make sure you follow the directions.

It doesn't do a good job at advertising, but it does mean r3000. Especially with the new CPUs being Zen 3
