If by masterpiece historically meaning pretty good graphics and being underoptimized to the point of needing quad SLI Titans, 3 horses, and a tribute of a goat

Well I do hope they are delaying it to really improve upon and not make it worse unlike some games we saw recently *cough*Watch Dogs*cough* Maybe by then I'll have a new graphics card to even run it at decent settings

I don't mind. CDProject won't bother releasing a shit game, so if they need more time to improve it and fix bugs then it's up to them.

You never need quad anything, as triple is always better.

 

Anyway, Witcher 3 is at best a 60% sale purchase for me, bring on Star Citizen!

It was a big jump for them I guess.  I can wait that long.  Especially seeing as cyberpunk I think is coming out in late 2014!!

This series has been one of my all time favorites. Although I am bummed, I am still happy that they at least are putting the extra  time into the game instead of releasing a buggy unfinished game.

Wanted to play it this year, and was one of the only games I was excited about. The other being Star Citizen, but oh well. 

 

This might mean it will be Direct X 12, low level OpenGL, and I respect the developer for not rushing the game to appease shareholders.

 

EA should watch this and learn. Their heads probably exploded when they saw this article.

if its to get the game closer to there goal then good... i would rather have a game that is complete in the eyes of the devs than complete in the eyes of the investors

Exactly. Initial reaction is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. After 5 seconds you should be like. The game will be better. This is a GOOD thing. We need more companies to value the art over the profit line. and it takes balls to tell the investors/shareholders NO. 

 

This game would have sold like gangbusters on consoles who have no or limited games. They could have easily been greedy and completed the game through DLC's and patches.
