Absolute cheapest mech keyboard

avanboekel11

Are there any boards in the $35 range? I just want it for the parts, and don't care if the switches are cherry knockoffs.

I'd imagine that they'd have to be a model that a company was trying to dump or it would have to be some low quality switch. The bare minimum cost to a company for a mechanical keyboard with more common Cherry MX switches is usually in the ~$40-50 range. That'd be essentially losing money to sell it.

If you cannot afford a "proper" mechanical keyboard, you might want to take a look at Ttesports' Knucker keyboard with Plunger switches.

you can get old mechanical keyboards on ebay that use cherry switches but they are hard to find with out knowing what to look for.but there are keyboards with black or brown switches that have been made for years before gaming became a reason to upsell keyboards with mechanical switches. but they may not be good for gaming as the controllers in them are not really set up to stop ghosting where most games put controls like most newer keyboards are.

Even used mechanical keyboard go around $40-$50. It's not impossible to find something cheaper but you should realize that it's like asking for a $35 monitor.

The cheapest mechanical keyboard I know is the "TVS-e Gold Keyboard". It has 104 authentic Cherry MX Blues and sells for 1900 Indian Rupees (~$32 USD). If you by ANY chance have a friend/relative that's visiting/leaving India, get him/her to pick one up for you.

Alternatively, you can just hunt eBay for old POS Cherry boards that you'll occasionally find for very cheap prices.
