What type of ssd's my laptop supports?

Hello there,
i recently bought a hp omen 15 ek0013dx and it came with a 512 GB nvme ssd but i have a old laptop with sata m.2 ssd , and the new laptop has 2 ssd slots.
So i wanted to know if i can use the old m.2 sata ssd in that slot and will it work? Do i need to format/wipe the ssd before using it? or is there anything else i must do before transfering the ssd?

You can use it, it should work fine since most laptops/motherboards do support sata as well on the NVME slot.

No, it's just plug and play. Perhaps remove the Windows installation if you have one on it.
