I asked Crucial about the DRAM cache on the MX series and I was told it didn't have one.  The BX and MX series were virtually the same drive.   This was about 3 weeks ago.

 

So not sure whom to believe the Crucial sales support rep or PC Part Picker?

SN750 goes for the same price, plus it's m.2.

Already have an M.2 NVME, my mobo has only one M.2 slot otherwise I would get another one lol

what??? you contacted Crucial support or the Amazon Seller?
it's weird because they are virtually the same drive but the BX performs worst on many benchmarks exactly on par of cacheless SSD... uhhh

I've read 2 reviews just now that say it has DRAM cache so IDK what to tell you haha.

Yeah, I don't know.  That sales support stopped me from buying the MX series as well until I could do more research which I have not had time to do.  I was hoping that folks here knew more.   It seems that the sales support guy was clueless - go figure.

Just called and went on online chat with Crucial, specifically asked if the SATA MX500 SSD had the DRAM chip, online chat said it had DRAM cache and seemed sure of himself, while the person on the phone had no clue, he mentioned momentum caching, so not sure who to trust now.

That is the biggest issue with NVME how limited the slots we have available.  The 3.0x4 TLC drives I would get are cheaper than available SATA drives but you have to be careful of having a space to put it...

solid drive.  I've been rocking one since they first came out with zero issue.  Crazy to see the price drop, paid just shy of 500 for mine back in 2018.
