STRIX-GTX1070 on BQ PurePower 10 500w CM ?

bdk74

Hi,
Anybody able to tell me the true watts used for the 1070?

According to guru3 the 1070 peaks@179 which is close to my current rx 480@166 (see attached).

Not really thinking on overclocking and my build is fairly simple.

Thoughts if I should be OK running this card? PSU is new.

Well assuming you don't have a Threadripper or overclocked i9 in there, yeah it'll work just fine.

Cool - that's only around 80W I'd say on a bad day at full 100% load. You're good to go.

Close as in wattage-wise or quality-wise?

500W is plenty for a 3600 and a 1070, and the PP10 is a good PSU that should be more than capable to run your hardware without issues.

What do you mean by wattage vs quality?

Based on online calculation the current setup (rx480) requires 341W and based on 1070 requiring little bit more than 480 I think we should be good.  I have little buying remorse because I wanted to go with pp11 650 but it was out of stock for a long time..

You asked "how close am I going to be on PP10", and I wasn't sure whether you were asking if 500W would be enough, or whether the PSU's quality would be enough.

I wouldn't worry about only having 500W - you could throw a 2080Ti in there and still be more than fine wattage-wise.
