I won't Google it, wanna hear from an actual Canadian. And please excuse my lack of knowledge...but what is Canadian Thanksgiving? Is it rooted in what we do here in the US? Or is it something completely different? What does a celebration look like? Do you get the day off from work?

It has to do with our Indigenous brethren, they celebrated the fall harvest. And the settlers who came to their land kinda adopted it and that is the super abridged version.

 

Today it's basically a time when we just gather with family and friends and eat lots of turkey and be thankful for stuff.
