Best android phone I know of in that price range available in the us is the Pixel 4a. Not Samsung and it only has 6gb of ram but it does have a decent processor and I believe has an oled screen. I don’t think any phones in that price range will have both an oled screen and 8gb ram. Atleast not one I have ever heard of.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Samsung S10 Lite's can be found for pretty good pricing if you look for them.

If you're in the US Swappa is a good site for used phones.

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Unlocked-Warranty-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B089HNHZ17/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=samsung%2Bgalaxy%2Bnote%2B9&qid=1600055536&s=wireless&sr=1-3&th=1

Amazing you can get a note 9 for this price.

I went from 8 to 10+ but the 8 was amazing until the day I stopped using it. So maybe go for a note9

Is the s10 renewed a good option too because it is more recent? and around 450 dollars

I agree with this, the pixel 4a would be the best phone in that price range. If you do decide to buy a second hand phone, ensure its authenticity and do a service code test to check whether the phones receiver, sensor battery etc. are functional.

Again its still a great phone, i expect these phones to be fine for the next few years. They arent all that much slower then the Newest phones, and are certainly much cheaper.

It's more security that's the issue, oh and if you want a decent camera samsung is not the way to go

If you want something new from Samsung, you could also get an A51. They cost $400 exactly, an have every feature you mentioned except the RAM

Why do you think you need 8gb of ram? Pretty sure the OS will nope the f* and close a few things before it ever lets you use all that.

And for the love of god, don't buy refurbished or 2 years old days past flagships. You will be out of support before the honeymoon phase is over and the battery will have 2 years woth of degradation on it (even if it was unused for 2 years - still degrades).

What about last year flagships

Of course, you will NEVER reach 100% ram usage. Android itself keeps a little bit free, so it's there when needed (otherwise it would need to close something first, increasing app-start-time).

However: If only 7gb out of 8gb will be used... it's still more than on a 6gb phone, where only 5gb is beeing used.

8gb can hold more than 6gb. And at least my Oneplus does use up 7,5gb Ram (it hit 7gb on my 8gb 6T before, it hits constantly 7-8gb usage on my 12gb one right now).

8gb is a very good sweet spot right now. Enough so there is a difference compared to 6gb. But still enough, so that 12gb won't give you anything noticeable.

@ Thread: I recommend going away from Samsung, and getting a Oneplus Nord. One of the best Allround smartphones you can buy at 400~ bucks.

On samsung only the flaggships are interesting, and even they aren't first class thanks to the Exynos.

Midrange Samsung phones are just mediocre from overall specs.

For the service code test, you are going to have to enter a number on the dial of the phone. The number changes from brand to brand and you will have to search for them online. On Google search for "brand" + Service code test.

Check about Xiaomi smartphones. You'll be amazed about price-quality-performance. Definitely recomend, for that money in specs and performance you can get new phone equivalent to S9 or IPhone X.

But. I don't know about buying options in US..
