my first pair of good headphones

M.R_KING

i want a good pair of headphones last me a long time

and also i want to learn about sound things

like: bass...treble...mid range...high end and all that stuff

and use it for gaming as well

my budget is 70 to 75 dollars or little more

so i found these cheap studio headphones in the market

audio technica ath-m20x with 50$

audio technica ath-m30x with 70$

samson sr850 with 23$ to 34$

samson sr950 with 37$

the prices are without shipping!!!!

EDIT:

(i found on aliexpress also the m20x for 72$+12$shipping and m30x for 93$+13$shipping so i said hell nah buy it in my country for very less price is wayyyy better than aliexpress)

so do you recommend it to me as a first good beginning pair of studio headphones

or just buy a cheap gaming headphone????

your answers are important to me

see you later

Budget (including currency)? Open/closed back?

Quote

Should I get gaming brand headphones? - 99.5% of the time, no. God no. There are a few reasons why gaming headsets suck. Some of these issues are compounding, some headsets will suffer from more than one of these issues and it all piles up into one big thing of garbage.

- Build quality - There's a lot of stuff inside a gaming headset. All that stuff has to work together and on top of that the headset has to meet a competitive price point and turn a profit for the manufacturer. You've got the speakers, a mic, cabling, connectors, on board audio drivers (if its a USB set), noise cancellation (by way of closed design), the ear pads, headband and internal mountings, speakers, RGB, etc. Basically in order to make a product that meets a competitive price point and still makes a decent profit, one or more of the listed things in here tends to get the cheap and nasty treatment. Usually more than one thing.

- Marketing - Unlike the fairly 'word of mouth' driven world of hi-fi audio gear, gaming gear is heavily driven by advertising and marketing. The marketing budget is included in the cost of making the headset, so at the end of the day, those are dollars being taken away from quality components and assembly.

- Gimmicks - RGB should not be on your head, all it does is create extra heat and cost more money, for something you yourself can't actually see (and to other people in the room, looks stupid). 7.1 Surround Sound is marketing rubbish made up to make the uneducated think that their thing is better then it is, and is in fact less accurate then normal headphones using Dolby Atmos Access (see LTT video in resources). In-line controls that you may accidentally hit (scroll wheels ew), when your PC has all they controls it needs (spend the money you save from headphones on a better keyboard with media controls).

you are right and this is the reason for why i asked here

if i get a good studio headphones last me 2 or 3 years or even more

and give me good quality sound because i want to learn about sound things

or get a cheap bad headphones just to play games nothing more and even more expensive

for a beginner which one is better ?? closed back or  open back??

i see the open back give you more soundstage and clarity in sound

and give your ear some air so the heat is less

and the closed back is for listening outside

mixing audio

and casual listening

i'm actualy prefer the two xd

i will use it in my room at home so the two is good for me

a good pair that should be within your budget that sounds pretty close to a m40x pretty neutral pair build quality though is somewhat concerning is the status audio cb1. but if you want the cheapest possible neutral with very impressive sound for the price the koss ksc 75's are great if you want better build quality and more traditional design but you will get a bassier sound the koss kph30i are great. if you want a weel built headphone that studios have been using since the early 80's these were my first and still one of my favorite headphones the akg k240's are pretty great but are pretty bass light.

Of those four that you mention,t he ath-m20x are your best bang for hr buck.  I have worked with several DJs and many of them use AudioTechnica.  They 20x and 30x are very similar.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

what is the main difference??
