I’m not sure I totally agree with the guy.  I didn’t know that hiren thing was still around.  I’d never even heard of windows pe.  Not sure how useful it still is.  It sounds like a lot of the stuff could be quite old. A Linux liveCD of some sort is a useful thing to have as is a windows boot usb. Doesn’t basically everyone have one of those though?  Not so sure about the last one.  I suppose it could make sense for laptops or prebuilts.

This is something I have not seen in other laptop stuff.  The last PC laptop I owned was an emachines and they’re not even in business anymore so there was that, but Rossman is a famous guy. The dude actually makes international news.  It’s possible he got VIP treatment.   I call it interesting but not definitive.  Name on the paper was “Rossman repair group”. The man has a rep for running sneaky designed problems at repair people.  They may have been afraid.

Take homes for me from the list.  I was thinking about which states were blue, which were red, and which had lax vs tight gun laws.

 

Gun laws don’t seem to affect crime much one way or the other in the US.  Blue seems to be doing slightly better than red, but blue states are often more populous, and percentages seem to go up with both unusually low and unusually high populations so the final difference is approaching equal.  Isn’t useful data for either of the things I was looking at though with gun laws it’s slightly less useless.
 

As for the original premise of avoiding arrest by state, it strikes me as insufficiently granular.  Might be interesting by county.

while some of the before and after work done by this conservator are larger and more dramatic than this particular painting, its fantastic to see the steps and work that goes into conserving a painting.
