Join LTT on YT, or join Floatplane?

Linus Tech Tips can be 'Join'-ed on YT, but also, if i join through floatplane, it's LMG/LTT who benefit from it. So, if I can put my money only once and on just one platform, Floatplane or YT?

Because the middleman provides a staggering amount of value.

I do hate that YouTube takes some huge percentage of membership fees, but whenever I stop and think about it rationally, they've earned every dollar they can get people to voluntarily give them.  YMMV, though.  I know YouTube is doing some really raunchy things to its creators lately, so I'm not about to throw shade at people who don't want to give them any money.

I'd recommend anyone just signon for YT premium if they feel that.  It is actually a good value if you also use YT Music

I didn't realize LTT had the premium subscriber option on YT.  Are there any benefits for joining on YT?

YouTube takes 30% of the money. Floatplane money goes to Floatplane and the creator.

Pretty good that Floatplane is owned by LMG.

Floatplane also has better video and audio quality, and a discord role that you can flex if you care about that sort of thing.

I guess you could think of it more as giving to a charity, but you get some benefits.

No you're giving it to a business who wants to make money not give it to a charity who try to help a cause. LMG is a company that wants to make profit and that's all you're money is going to.
