New PC Based on the RTX 3070

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming/recording, Gaming, Video Editing

Other details: I am wanting to build a pc around the RTX 3070 GPU since the new announcement. ( i have been searching for parts for around
I will be buying the all the parts (apart from GPU) asap and the GPU in October as soon as it Releases.
Wanting a high refresh rate monitor included in the parts list. (120>)
Wanting a mechanical keyboard with any switch apart from blues (I currently have blue switches and I have problems typing for long on it :c

I am wanting to be playing games at above 60fps whilst recording and streaming in 1080p@60fps (using NVENC New)

that's really, really overkill. You can spend a ton less money and reach this performance goal

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Then you definitely don't need a 3070. You can buy a 1660 super now and be comfortably over 60 fps doing the same thing

You don't really need a 3070 do play at 1080p. Just get a 1660 Super or 2060 and a decent AMD processor, and you'll be set.

Buy a used RTX 2070S / GTX 1080 Ti / RX 5700XT in the coming months, prices should fall hard. And they will perfectly suite your needs.

Yeah. Unless you want to get a new new monitor, i dont think that a 3070 is right. s 20 series or a 1660 s or ti would make more sense

I think he refers to streaming in 1080p@60fps while playing in native resolution and maximum settings possible. I highly doubt he wants to buy a 1080p monitor nowadays.
