Overclocked i7 2600k or Ryzen 3700x?

probably. Probably worth your time to wait and see about the new CPUs coming out soon

I know this seems like a no-brainer, but will it really be worth upgrading my CPU to a 3700x if I'm running an overclocked i7 2600k running at 4.7GHz?  I have a 2080 Super, and was planning on upgrading my CPU, but right now my performance is decent in games, save for some stuttering.  Would the new processor help with stuttering at all?

Hm... Yes, it would help with the stuttering due to the higher number of cores. However in games that only perform a dual core usage, a lower frequency would be actually detrimental if you go below the 4.7Ghz of the I7, which you will.

That sounds like a good idea.  Thanks!

I do have a decent, if not old water cooling loop in my computer so I was planning on trying to overclock the Ryzen.  Buut I guess overclocking out of the box for my daily driver wouldn't be the best idea.  hmm.  I think like Cyracus said, I'm gonna wait to see what else AMD comes out with.  Thanks
