550W PSU or 650W PSU

I've been told by people that a 650W PSU would be superior to a 550W PSU for my build. 

What's the deal?

550w would be more than enough for your build. 

 

650w provides a bit of additional overhead if you plan on making some major upgrades down the line, but honestly you would be just fine sitting with a 550w.

550w will be more than enough. Your system doesn't consume half of that wattage. 

But wattage isn't quality. 

The tx550m will work just fine. Also consider the SP11 550w or the rm550x.

That would be an upgrade, that I wouldn't go for personally as it's a bit small, but the TX550M will handle it fine as well.

 

TBH 550W is more than enough for pretty much every modern system. Excluding HEDT and Dual GPU of course.

Do you think a 600W would do that well? Since 650W still seems a bit much for that?

500W-650W all are fine. What it really depends on are the quality of the PSU. What do you have in mind other than the TX550M?
