birthday shopping spree

hey all!

This Friday is my birthday and i have decided to spoil myself with a cpu upgrade (have been waiting on it for at least 4 months...)

so, my current rig is as followed:

intel core i5-7600k - oc to 5.0ghz

msi gtx 1080ti armour oc

16gb 2666 dual channel (two 8 gig sticks)

msi z270 krait gaming

corsair h110i cooler

corsair rm750i psu

alianware aw3418dw running 3440X1440 120hz

 

 

so, i am planning on upgrading my cpu and motherboard, along with my memory...

 

i have two main options:

1. ryzen 7 3900xt with x570 motherboard - probably the Asus ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO AM4

2. intel i9 10900k with Asus ROG STRIX Z490-A GAMING LGA1200

 

for ram i am planning on getting Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 2x16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16

 

any thoughts or recommendations for which one to go with?

or should i wait the up to six months until zen3 goes out...

your current rig looks fine, if you wanna go such high end setup, waiting is more worth it

its actually kinda slugging behind, i mostly game and can feel that my cpu has aged...
