Can someone explain what MSI X-Boost does?

Can someone explain to me what X-Boost does? Like, I get the idea that it "boosts" ...performance? ... but but like, there's no free lunch, so what's going on....

Googling just givesd me the marketing speak, but I'm looking for a bit more info.

This is all off:

r/MSI_Gaming - Can someone explain what MSI X-Boost does?

And this is when gaming is on, and everything is just "more"...

I would assume there are tradeoffs to get "more" but this easy mode graph isn't showing me anything?

I'd... avoid it. Random auto overclocking software is more often than not problematic more than anything else.

Also, if this is on your A320 motherboard, you shouldn't be doing any sort of overclocking anyway.

Well, I still don't know what it does or is supposed to do...while I appreciate opinions, I would like to actually know.

That said, I've been flipping options and running cinebench r15, and the numbers (CPU and Open GL) are higher when nothing is on in it, vs either the game mode or the vr optimizing in the advanced settings.

Assuming Cinebench would show me something, I wonder why MSI packages this software that seems to be doing stuff counter to it's purpose.

my latest test gave me an aberation, though... highest FPS on Open GL test so far, but lowest CPU score.. gonan try R20, see if it's length of test that might be a thing...I remember them talking about that in a video once.
