Trying to Tune my new 10900k

I gave a 10900k with Asus Strix Z490-E Gaming mobo and 64GB Gskill Trident ram.

I have a custom cooling loop that has the following:

2x EK 480mm XE Rads

2x EK 240mm SE Rads

12x Noctua PPC 120mm fans

now that that is out of the way....

I cant seem to overclock at all without having a high Vcore voltage. some examples

4.9 wont boot without 1.42v if I do it manually. If I leave it automatic using the AI tuning it looks like this:

image.thumb.png.5574c106d69dd4e00e2a3b0d23c7e823.png

I would like to get the vcore on a manual overclock down to what you see here. It seems that the heat cannot leave the processor fast enough. I know I have enough cooling.

side note, idle is 70C full load is 80-84 (can spike to 90) does that seem right?

Idle at 70 is really high unless you slow down pump and fans a lot or stop them completely.

Did you manually.tune any loadline calibration?

yes, level 4 (it was the one recommended for OCing)

kicking up the fans brought it down to 55. they are a bit loud though. also, ambient is 85F

the noctuas you bought are industrial which are made for airflow instead of silence iirc

Are we talking with F or C?

looks like they should all hit 4.9 all core with 1.325v so something else is going on

55C and 85F. sorry for the switch.

a stupid mistake I made was thinking the base clock was 4.7. thinking it took over 0.2v just to get it 200MHz higher... i havent been sleeping well lol.

ill check out the silicon lottery site and report my findings.

thanks all.

set everything to the specs on that page and ran a short 10min stress test:

half way through this, I noticed that my 2080 ti was running full bore. it is in the same loop just before the CPU. I like these numbers way better. I turned the GPU off and it had no effect on the temps.
