This is just insane!

im thinking i was insane trying to get it finished so quickly !!! ARGH! around 12 hours to get this up and running, it looks like im going have to put some of the mods and things on hold just to get it running, IF (and its a big IF) i can find enough tubing kicking around to finish the loop :o! ive used nearly 3 meters so far and you cant even see any of it!

Soooo.

My build was meant to be complete today so i could take it to i-series.

Its not complete =(

however i have got it to a state where i can probably get it running when i get it to LAN.

so, this is what it currently looks like:

GDlsNPYl.jpg

VqKSTDal.jpg

it certainly wont look pretty at lan, which im gutted about. ive had too many set backs though (in my personal life, as well as with the build) and i just havnt had the time.

I have another LAN in june (LANTASTIC) so i will have it finished before then for sure. it also gives me plenty of time to re do all the paint work and do some nice sleeving.

Right, i best get off, all this is getting chucked into the car in a hour and half, and so far ive not packed anything for me at lan, ive been too busy!!!

  • 1 month later...
Long time no update!!!

well, first of all, I51 was amazing. Many drinks were had (my favorite drinking partners being : coolmeister (always a pleasure), TinyTomLogan (first time drinking with him tbh, and a rather nice gent!), Andy from eteknix (again, another first, a good bloke!), the parvum boys (awesome boys!)

and some of the OCUK crowd (much drunk!)

Now you might think that all i did was drink there?! YOU ARE WRONG!!! i fixed up my computer so it was usable, and i also spoke to quite a few people in the industry that want to work with me on future builds!!!!

One of these is going to be sponsoring H2Orange, i dont mind telling you, im very excited. I wont say who yet, but its a VERY big company, who specialise im memory and SSD's!!!

Also, ive gained a few builds to do from i51 also!!! One for a professional gaming team!!!!

but less of the chat, heres what i did today. Its only a small update, with one or two pics but here goes!

I started with a table looking rather like this:

AAj75qQl.jpg

After around 8 or 9 hours, i had this:

ryUvZTVl.jpg

Basically, with having the 3 GPU's in my system, there were loads of wires and it was annoying me. Out of everything that wasnt ready at LAN, this was probably the biggest thing that stuck out to me.

so now, each GPU will have this:

55opusYl.jpg

Its 1 6pin converting into 2 6pins. Once i get the sleeving through, of course they will look a lot better and all the soldering will be insulated.

once done, il be using orange connectors like so:

rBGnPQNl.jpg

I need to order some more of these though, as the 10 i already have all seem to be a blooming different shade of orange =(

Anyways, thats all for me for a little while. An announcment will be made soon, informing you of my new sponsor, and il also be giving away 2 XSPC t-shirts too!!!

Cheers!

Well today was a good day!!!!!!!!!

im proud to announce HyperX to my list of sponsors!

bBdOBux.jpg

Im super excited about this as you can imagine! I would firstly like to start by saying a MASSIVE thank you to Krystian over at HyperX who saw my computer at I51 and was happy to help with the build!!

i wasnt expecting a parcel so soon as i was only asked for my address a day or two ago, but this afternoon there was a knock at the door and a nice UPS man gave me this:

6ggcqt3l.jpg

I didnt have a clue as to what it was at first... 2 parcels? i hadn't ordered anything and certainly wasnt expecting anything.

the next minute, i saw the word "Kingston" and felt like a kid at Christmas!!!! BEST FEELING EVER!!!

so, i opened them both up and in parcel number 1 was the SSDs i was told i should be receiving... so why another box?!

well.... THEY SENT ME RAM TOO!!!!

TSbyfV7l.jpg

The SSDs are certainly for this build, the ram, well, that is for something later ;)

These HyperX SSDs are a limited edition white and black version and they look awesome, he selected these for me so that they would match my build better than their standard ones!

and they do! they look awesome.

t6zkcqel.jpg

fGcqqc1l.jpg

6CEs03ul.jpg

hmmm, although they do look a lot whiter than the standard HyperX SSDs, they have a bit too much black on them still!

SO.... TIME TO MOD....

hmmmm, im sure this is an advisory only ....

Vh0xYCul.jpg

aaah, luckily i didnt remove it, so im sure im still covered!

3dnywmfl.jpg

so thats whats inside!?!

QhqFg7el.jpg

hmmm, i wonder if the "X" comes off to make it easier to spray, Yup it does, now this was quite tricky, but the "X" is made out of metal which did make me a bit more confident.

sczWPg0l.jpg

the glue thats used is very good, took me a while to get the "X" off.

ygKgxkml.jpg

some rubbing alcohol and they looked like this:

uQiiklXl.jpg

time to mask off the area i dont want spraying!

uUYQyOdl.jpg

elevated the SSDs so that i could do the edges as well as the top!

pfgsxJ9l.jpg

and started to spray!

The undercoat first...

RcJ64FXl.jpg

Then THE ORANGE!!!

E7ILmd7l.jpg

so... the final pics:

wHZYHKel.jpg

7Ek74tPl.jpg

xDfgvv8l.jpg

They arent 100% perfect, so i might actually put another coat on these, but i do really like them!

thanks again to HyperX for these, i cant wait to get them in my system!! Also, keep an eye out for my posts using the White HyperX Fury ram soon!!!

Cheers guys,

Yeh I didn't want to rush things really buy I did need to take it along to i51 as I'd promised a sponsor if have something done for it. Luckily I managed to get it in a working state on the Thursday night when I was there (everyone else was gaming and there's me building a computer lol)

I now have until August to get it finished which if my last sponsor manages to get the products to me in time, and a couple of other things I need doing get done, I should be ready!!!

The only thing then is to wonder what to do next!!?!
