Well, its time to rebuild my computer, its getting on a bit, and although the componants have stood the test of time well, im just getting bored with the overall build. So, time to do a rebuild!!!!

First and foremost though, i need to thank these awesome people/companies for either sponsoring me, discounting stuff for me (as i am on a really tight budget) or just generally been there when ive needed help with things!

Well, i started to type a bit of an update, then i realised.... my brand new (had it about a month) £130 ducky shine 3 keyboard was way too black for this build.

So, i changed it to fit with H2Orange!

i bought, i bet you can guess? yup, some white and orange spray paint, i thought id try plastidip as i wanted to have a little bit of a get out of jail free card with it ;)

First, i took it apart... sorry warranty, i never liked you anyway.

6fMWQNYl.jpg

Then, a couple of coats of white to cover the black as much as possible, this is the first coat, i think i did 2 more after this

ruYAylSl.jpg

then, cracked on with the "blaze orange" I love that colour!!!

424r9rzl.jpg

the finish isnt bad at all, the only problem was my impatience, i should have given it at least another coat as it seems i consentrated on the sides you see the most (from the front view) and only did 1 coat on the 2 sides, you cant tell unless you look closely, but the black is certainly still there.

if i get some time, il probably just give it another coat, but its certainly fine for now:

s4ZHn5xl.jpg

hmmmmm.... hang on, those keys look rather black to me =(

yrohl8Ql.jpg

ooou, its ok!! ive got just what the doctor ordered!

4i94qgIl.jpg

Thats better!

a57DkSgl.jpg

and just some with the lights off to show, i did have this in mind before i bought the keyboard ;)

FRlOampl.jpg

8W3BO1Dl.jpg

3iE5v29l.jpg

So, not really an update with the build, but at least im getting in the mood ;)

Thanks folks!

Right, so lets get some pictures uploaded hey?

A massive thanks to

kn3bLJRl.jpg

particularly coolmiester, who without his support, i wouldn't have even thought about rebuilding my computer, certainly not into a case as large as this one!!!

he has helped me, not only with equipment, but also with encouragement when i met him at a few events! THANKYOU!

so, this update, is just some XSPC component porn really, just a little taster as to what im thinking!

 so....

Here is the case.... im not going to do much here, other than say.... ITS MASSIVE!!!! apologies about the messy backdrop, i literally grabbed it out of the box and took a picture in excitement, then took it apart, to see what i wanted to do with it. when i rebuild it il take better pictures!!

wXi4L2El.jpg

Reservoirs!!! 2 of them? well, it can only mean 1 thing...> DUAL LOOPS :D

YaqL80zl.jpg

for 2 loops id need 2 pumps though...right? aaah, sweet, i already ordered them :D

dAllbkHl.jpg

But XSPC have these too!!! dual looks that can be seen from the front? hmmm.... 3 reservoirs then? aaaah, why not!

3VVkdvzl.jpg

im going to need a lot of fittings.... i know, i know i already have a box full.... but what about these sexy things!!!

LxHIUNcl.jpg

they really do look lovely!!

YdUDZaAl.jpg

a temp sensor holder... oh, and some temp sensors too (which i already have connected so, there are no pictures of

0L9aG70l.jpg

a 480 Rad? MUCH COOLING!

K9bjs0Sl.jpg

just to give you an idea of the hight of the case....

m9Qwxtxl.jpg

that window looks small though... doesnt it? Yeh, il have to do something about that i think ;)

Yeah, i liked the orange and black too, but i always do my systems orange and white now, i dont know why, it seems to have become a little trademark haha!

Awesome build. Looks forward to the finish thing. :D

Thank you mate! hopefully i will pull my finger out and get it finished asap, i need to take it to an event next month :o i hope i get it done in time!!!!

Man I sure love a custom keyboard! Cant wait to do my own. Love the colors cant wait to see final product.

Thanks, it was a bit scary doing it to my brand new keyboard, usually i wait till i get bored with it before i start looking how to take it apart, but it was just too.... BLACK!!

So....

that window. for a case so big, it did surprise me how small the window was tbh, it showed everything most people would want to show off though, just not quite big enough for what i wanted to do (or what i think i want to do!)

2V7BCRHl.jpg

So, i think this can be the first job.

Look!!! i even measured it properly! its rare i do that, usually i just jump in with both feet, cut away then fix things after :D

5CWHdnGl.jpg

zGYl7N1l.jpg

a new toy to get the job done

RjpNEqVl.jpg

AND GOOOOOOOO!

YpeUYj5l.jpg

Progress was very slow indeed.

after a hour, id got this far, i didnt want to give up though!

VGZoayKl.jpg

i decided to do it a diffrent way, draw the lines on both sides and dremel half way through on each side and hope that my measurements were correct!!!!!

r8zNW6Hl.jpg

a hour or two later!!!

xAFFNcCl.jpg

Some of the edges do need a little filing down where there are some sharp edges etc, but over all, considering i could have got it done by friends using a laser or something, im really glad i did it myself, it was a lot more rewarding and looks good!

So today i woke up early, and thought i would have a crack at this rapping thing.... so WORD TO YO MOTHER!

yeah.... maybe im not the next Dr Dre.

I started off with these lovely XSPC RAM blocks. they really do look the bees knees, but they are urm... black =(

lrigkJSl.jpg

well, my first attempt didnt look too bad, in fact, im quite impressed with it. I think i would have got a better result if i used spray paint, but i wanted something a little less

permanent.

f95k5cMl.jpg

all of them done :D

JGEBLW6l.jpg

and for a massive one (oooh er)

JGEBLW6.jpg

ive still got a lot of the wrap to play with, and i am in the process of doing a little bit more... but ive got distracted by geeky things :D

  • 4 weeks later...
First of all appologies for the rubbish photo's ive lent my camera out to a friend, so im using my phone at the moment, i will be getting better photos soon though!! Just as soon as i can borrow one, or convince someone we need a night of drinking, playing bored games and taking pictures of tech...

so... first of all i got quite a few XSPC waterblocks.

i had a XSPC raystorm CPU waterblock

A XSPC Memory WaterBlock (4 Slot)

And a XSPC Z77X-UP7 waterblock ready to go... but again, they are all black!!!

sooooo its time for some spray painting!

vEyaQ8Nl.jpg

Here is what i ended up with! I did do them in wrap at first, but i just wasn't feeling it tbh, i prefer the finish of the paint!

Ok, So...The case, and a massive thanks again to kn3bLJRl.jpg  for this.

This is a XSPC H2 Enthusiast

wXi4L2El.jpg

And what a case tbh.  Easy to assemble/ disassemble (although you do need some good screwdriver skills, or like me, grab your electric one!

There are 2 main problems with the case.

1) There's not actually that much you can mod, there's just no need. usual id mod for radiator space, or somewhere to stick an extra fan or two etc etc, but i just dont need to with this! It means its really hard for a modder to play with! For someone who just wants a case to work straight out the box though, yup, its fine!!

2) the colour. BLACK!!? ARGH!!!!!

so heres what i did..... TO THE POWDER COATERS!!!

i did have a powder coater that was going to do this for me as a sponsor, but unfortunately he didnt have time to do it for me, and i didn't have time to wait. So i sourced someone local, who did a fantastic job and in all honesty, cost peanuts!

With this case, there is actually a double beds worth of metal :o!!!

CZfv9GJl.jpg

The base, this has 4 wheels on the bottom, i did put my cat on it and try and convince it to have a go like a skateboard. it didnt work. =(

Kw6Qpdwl.jpg

Getting there:

nNggZsql.jpg

done!

IJZ9P7vl.jpg

8OA8iE9l.jpg

AkT47q2l.jpg

SlViDukl.jpg

i will be getting better pictures of this as i literally only finished putting this together around a hour or so ago. I do love it in white. its beautiful. it doesnt seem so dauntingly big either which is a bonus!

Tomorrows update will be a bit more.... daring.

Thanks gents,  :D

here have some more!!

Sooooo after my last build using one of these, i really liked it. So after breaking one of the PCI slots on it after a bit of a mishap with a GPU i bought another one, and my old one can be used for something with less than 3GPU's in haha.

wIiviLZl.jpg

Om not going to go through what's in the box as i did it in the last build, and now its a bit of an old mobo, but heres a pic of all the goodies you get!

KvDunZVl.jpg

And of course, heres the motherboard in all its black and orange glory.

Hvprkb0l.jpg

LYVucO1l.jpg

WAIT!?!! BLACK and orange?!?

Something will need to be done about this.

soooooo, Masking tape... yup.

WhIjM6jl.jpg

Putting a new motherboard outside on a table? Why not?!

xAAkD7sl.jpg

Hang on... usually after masking tape there comes....? Thats right, lets get the rattle can out!!

first light coat to just break me in

2SRrsu1l.jpg

This is what it looked like after around 3-4 coats. I didnt want to do too many more as i dont want have too many issues with heat.

keOvDcLl.jpg

After taking the masking tape off:

9kKnL7Tl.jpg

and just some pictures of the overall finish!

4L8A5Yel.jpg

lxvxfjDl.jpg

iDCjoREl.jpg

and what it will look like with the blocks installed (they are just resting on at the moment)

gY3nl2Bl.jpg

This is probably the scariest mod ive done, i did check it posts after, and i dont seem to be having any problems.I will of course be keeping an eye on the temps once i kick it all in!

well, kind of, this is plastidip, so it shouldn't cause any problems, i wouldn't recommend it though unless your willing to risk your hardware!

It does look pretty sketchy...

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Only Abate, Axe, and Wobbles can save us.

Its working fine,  i have since tested it, i didnt spray things that i know get too hot, plus the waterblock should help take the heat anyways :D it will be interesting to see what happens when i test it properly when its built :D
