Radeon VII + B550 = blackscreens?

just a random thought:

ensure the GPU is in all the way

Or try a different pcie slot

@gameboy3800

Saw your post over @ amd.  someone also recommends the pro driver over the Adrenalin driver

It doesn't make what i said not true,

That is indeed typical for the AMD driver issue,i have never said it doesn't happen in different scenarios or causes.

I helped AMD in the past debugging the problem...

So i know quite a lot about it.

Misunderstood the verbiage sorry.

i'll move the gpu down a slot. its not a 4.0 card anyways so it shouldnt matter if its in a 3.0 or 4.0 slot

It sounds like a good solution,AMD has to be careful with stability in the enterprise segment.

Use the enterprise version.

Also i saw that you are not the only one currently facing this issue,

I will tell you a secret, the issue first appeared in April 2016 with Tonga GPUs:

Article from July 2016: https://www.pcinvasion.com/r9-380-black-screen-issues-amds-persistent-unsolved-bug/

Reddit 2016: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4f65db/r9_380_users_who_have_black_screen_crashes_help/

AMD had 4 years to fix this issue, yet it returns every time after AMD claim they fixed it.

gpu was already all the way inserted into the top slot, but i still moved gpu down a slot (its now a 3.0 slot but only wired for x4, i lose some performance in forza)

same result.

i test with forza because it loads fast and has been the most reliable way to get driver crashes. i can try borderlands 3 but i dont know if it will change anything.

I suspect there is not much you can do to solve it,it's 100% the black screen issue coming back since other people are now reporting to have this issue.

I'm having this same issue with mine man. Happens on desktop and in games, most notably wow classic. Tried drivers that work on my old rx 580 but no luck. I was gonna try going back some drivers, I found better stability with 20.2.1 but still crashed radeonsoftware. Does your fps tank when the drivers recover?

normally when my drivers recover, the game crashes. loading another game, i dont notice any drop in performance except for maybe a few extra stuttering. for borderlands2 the screen can go black, but once it recovers the game is still running and i can resume playing.

dump file isnt letting me open it, but i looked up the bugcheck thing and i followed a tutorial that shows what drivers acted up to cause it, and it pointed to razer drivers. i've now just reinstalled synapse and i'm going to see if it worked. i swear if it was razer causing it this whole time...

Whenever I tried to open my DMP files, Microsoft support told me a specific way to upload it for them to view it. Couldn't look at it myself.
